闯补蝉辞苍听闯补蝉办辞濒办补鈥痠s an Assistant Professor in the听Department of Systems and Computer Engineering.听Since starting at 杏吧原创 in听2017,听he听has worked to听instill a deep understanding in students, founded听on three central pillars: help all students realize their full potential; prepare the next generation of engineers to听solve听the problems of tomorrow; and inspire people to get excited about cyber security. Jason is active in developing and using engaging approaches for organizing,听communicating听and tailoring听course content听for diverse learning styles.听听
Jason听is听a听chosen recipient of the 2021听New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award听for听his听dedication and passion for sharing knowledge, and supporting students in achieving success, both inside and outside the classroom.听
Brett听Popplewell鈥痠s听currently听an听Assistant Professor听in the听School of Journalism鈥痑nd Communication.听Since starting at 杏吧原创 in听2017,听he听has听created three courses from scratch and听worked to implement several initiatives such as听playing听 a听lead role in the Journalism program鈥檚 efforts to create an anti-racist and equitable learning environment, helping to drive the creation of an Equity Checklist for course instructors, establishing the new Future of Journalism Initiative听and launching a 杏吧原创 collaboration with Maclean鈥檚 magazine where reporting students research and write obituaries on victims of COVID-19.听听
Brett听is听a听chosen recipient of the 2021听New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award听for听the听innovation,听energy and excitement听he dedicates to his teaching beyond the classroom.听
Deanna听Whelan听is an听Instructor听II听in the听Department听of Psychology听responsible for teaching advanced statistic and research methods.听Since starting听her Instructor II role听at 杏吧原创 in听2017,听Deanna听has worked to听design and develop tools听for students that听promote mastery of material, strengthen positive work habits, and retain the听skills听necessary to succeed in future courses, employment and as a member of society.听Outside of the classroom, Deanna has supported the 杏吧原创 community through hosting educational development workshops, acting as a teaching mentor, participating in the Brightspace pilot, and presenting at the Teaching听Statistics in Psychology Conference.听
