The staff of CUOL, EDC and IMS are excited to welcome one of Canada鈥檚 leading scholars in teaching and learning, Dr. Joy Mighty, as 杏吧原创鈥檚 new Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), effective November 1.

Dr. Mighty brings a great deal of experience to 杏吧原创, coming from Queen’s University, where she is currently the director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning and a professor in the School of Business. Prior to her work at Queen’s, she was the co-ordinator of the Teaching and Learning Centre and an associate professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick.

Born in Guyana, Dr. Mighty received a BA, Dip. Ed., and MA in Education from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, an MBA from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a PhD in Organizational Behaviour from York University in Toronto. Her areas of research expertise include diversity, equity and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

In addition to her AVP position, Dr. Mighty will hold an academic cross-appointment in the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies and the Sprott School of Business.

November 1 will also mark the end of Dr. Alan Steele’s role as interim AVP Teaching and Learning. Alan will continue in his role as Special Advisory to Provost. The staff of CUOL, EDC and IMS聽 would like to thank Alan for his hard work and contributions over the past 10 months and wish him all the best.
