Opportunity
ANR, DFG, ESRC and SSHRC are launching a sixth ORA call for proposals in order to fund the best joint research projects in social sciences. The scheme will provide funding for integrated projects by researchers coming from at least three of the four subscribing countries 鈥� in any combination of three or more countries. Please note that the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO; Netherlands) will not be participating in this sixth ORA Call – for further information see in and in .
Proposals may be submitted in any area of the social sciences. However, the disciplinary coverage varies according to the involvement of the national agencies. Applicants who are uncertain of whether their proposal would be eligible should contact the relevant national agencies for clarification.
There is again a special opportunity for cooperation with projects in Japan. With the aim to strengthen cooperation between researchers in Japan and ORA partners, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) as the national funding organization of Japan renews the funding scheme to support projects which are associated with ORA. Eligibility
- All applicants and their institutions must fulfill national eligibility rules for research proposals as set by the relevant funding agencies (please see section 11 below for additional information concerning each participating funding agency in ORA six).
- Principal Investigator(s), Co-Investigator(s), Team Member(s) can only be involved in ONE proposal in the current round, in any capacity. If any individual appears as project participant in two applications, both applications will be declaredineligible and rejected by the call Secretariat.
Funding Available
For Canadian teams, proposals will be funded based on the funding request outlined in the , which must be submitted as an attachment to the ORA聽6 Full proposal (see below). The contains an itemized budget in Canadian dollars.
Canadian applicants can request up to $135,000聽per聽year for a maximum of $400,000 over two to three聽years.
