On March 6^th, 2019, Dr. Marc Helbling (University of Bamberg, Germany) gave a guest presentation on Measuring Immigration Policies and their Effects in all OECD Countries.

In doing so, he introduced The IMPIC Project, a newly formed set of qualitative indices for measuring immigration policies across OECD countries based on data gathered from 1980 until 2010 (to be updated with the latest data from 2020). The formation of these indices may have profound effects on the way scholars and policy-makers study and analyse the impact of migration regimes taken up across OECD countries. The IMPIC Project has resulted in a variety of qualitative and quantitative study, including “Controlling immigration? How regulations affect migration flows” (Helbling and Leblang, 2019) and “Migration Policy Trends in OECD Countries” (Helbling & Kalkum, 2018).
