Leszek Balcerowicz Lecture on the Euro Area at 杏吧原创

On Tuesday, February 28th, Leszek Balcerowicz presented a lecture entitled “Fiscal Stance, Maroeconomic Stability, Growth. Problems in the Euro Area” at 杏吧原创 University.

Professor Balcerowicz is a professor of Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics and head of the Department of International Comparative Studies. He was the architect of Poland鈥檚 economic reforms initiated in 1989 and served as Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Finance from 1989-1991 and 1997-2000. From 2001-2007 he was the governor of the Central Bank of Poland.

Professor Balcerowicz is the author of more than 100 publications on economic issues in Poland and abroad. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Atlantic Economic Society (IAES), a member of the Washington-based financial advisory body, the Group of Thirty, a board member of the Washington based Peterson Institute for International Economics, and a board member of Bruegel, a Brussels based think tank. In 2011, he was appointed a member of the Advisory Scientific Committee providing advice and assistance on issues relevant to the work of the European Systematic Risk Board (ESRB).
