Women in Engineering and IT Program
Supported by leading engineering and information technology organizations, our WiE&IT Program is one of the first of its kind in Canada and hopes to help close the gender gap in STEM. The program runs throughout academic year (September to April) and provides women students studying in a STEM discipline at 杏吧原创 with networking, mentorship, and soft-skill development opportunities. Browse our upcoming offerings below.
Students can add the Women in Engineering and IT Program to their Co-Curricular Record (for students who have attended 2 events per year).
Mentorship Nights
Mentorship Nights offer women students access to informal mentorship opportunities. Twice during the academic year, women students can participate in a roundtable discussions with working professionals from leading engineering and IT companies.
Study Lounge
The Study Lounge is a space for women to develop connections with fellow students, study in groups or independently and engage with our graduate-level program representatives, the Graduate Assistants.
Graduate Assistants
The Graduate Assistants are enrolled in STEM disciplines, and committed to supporting undergraduate and graduate women students with their academic journeys. Find them in the Study Lounge for weekly sessions, and at many of our events.
Industry Tours
In partnership with our Tier I Program sponsors, WiE&IT Program offers tours of Tier I company office spaces, where you鈥檒l get a snapshot of what it鈥檚 like to work for leading engineering and IT companies. You鈥檒l be able to chat with employees and see the organization from the inside.
Career and Networking Fair
This is an annual in-person event hosted on campus for women students in STEM who want to establish and grow their professional network. Students who attend the event will get to speak to representatives from leading engineering and IT organizations, explore employment opportunities and grow their employability skills.
Professional Development Fund
This fund helps women students build their skills and expand their professional networks. It can be used to cover costs for conferences, workshops, seminars and other experiential and professional development opportunities.
