  1. Go to: /sspr
    • Enter your MC1 (@cunet.carleton.ca) account as the Email or Username, and complete the Captcha, then click Next.
  2. Select the first authentication method to use to verify yourself.
  3. Once you use an authentication method, you are not able to use it again for the second verification step.  Select a second authentication method to use.
  4. Enter your new password and confirm, then restart your computer.
  5. Update your password on any device that is using MC1 account (wifi/email app)

After you change your password through this new process, you will receive an email notification.  If you ever receive this email without changing your password, please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Requesting Computer Accounts at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´

Whether a new hire, a current CU employee that is changing roles, Vendor or Visiting Scholar, a Computer Request Form needs to be submitted outlining the requirements.

Not all users have the ability to request IT accounts (MC1, Email, Banner etc.), these requests should be handled by the Departmental Administrators.

  • An needs to be submitted outlining what resources are required for the new user (Email account, Banner access, W:\ permissions etc.)
  • Account requests should not be summited more than a month from the start date
  • Account requests can take 5 business days to process

Non-ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ employee, Vendor or Visiting Scholars

For non-ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Employee or Faculty a Banner ID is required to be assigned to the person, Students that require a Staff account, an affiliate form is not needed, the student number can be used when filling out the .  The non-ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ person can be directed to fill out this form.  The sponsor will then be sent the information needed via email to submit an  .  Not all users have the ability to access the affiliate form, these requests should be handled by the Departmental Administrators.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´

All staff, faculty, and students are provided a MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One (MC1) account which they must activate.  Once set up, they will use this one username and password to access various ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ IT applications and services including campus computers, wireless networks, BrightSpace, and more.

Users are also required to configure multi-factor authentication (MFA) with their MC1 account. Once enabled, you will login to ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ systems using something you know (your MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One password) plus something you have (your mobile phone).

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´

As of Jan 1, 2025 registering security questions for your MC1 account was no longer mandatory, however it is a requirement for self-serve password resets. If security questions were not set please call the Service Desk at 613-520-3700 to have your MC1 password reset.

Every time you update your MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One password you must also update the password stored in all your connected wireless devices.  Failure to update a stored password can result in automatic lock-out due to repeated, unsuccessful login attempts

If on campus it is recommended you forget the CU-Wireless or EDUroam networks on your device(s) before resetting your password

Step 1: Change your MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One Password

  1. Go to:
  2. Enter in your Username (firstnamelastname) in the User ID field
  3. Click on Next – If you receive an error of “Incorrect MC1 details”  You have mistyped your username or have not registered your security questions.
  4. Answer at least 3 of the security questions you registered via
  5. Click Next
  6. Enter a new Password and re-enter to confirm
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Finish
  9. Restart your computer

Forgot your password?

  1. If you have forgotten your password, follow the same steps as above to log into the Password Self-Service portal and set a new password.
