Faculty Research
The Department of History is home to over two dozen historians whose interests span the globe and the centuries. We teach and research in fields ranging from medieval France to modern Japan, from the Atlantic world to the Indian subcontinent. Our faculty members tackle everything from the history of food and alcohol to Renaissance science, from sexuality in modern German history to Canadian environmental history and humanitarianism, from Western Canadian photography to film and digital history, from the gendered body in South Africa to World Wars, modern international politics to Latin American social history, from intellectual history to historical theory and public representations of the past.
