PhD Student William Tait Blogs Ӱԭ Master Class With Dr. Gil Loescher
As part of the the three-day workshop “,” held by Migration and Diaspora Studies from September 23-25, graduate students were invited to participate in a master class with preeminent historian of refugees Dr. Gil Loescher. Loescher has been a pioneer in the study of the relationship between world politics and the causes, consequences and potential responses to refugee movements. He is Visiting Professor at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford.

History and Political Economy Ph.D candidate, has written about the master class and how the session provided inspiration for his own work. Tait’s dissertation, under the supervision of , addresses the influences and connections between Canadian Faith Based Organizations and humanitarian NGOs in the context of the Cold War.
