Student Work Placement Program
Hire a 杏吧原创 co-op student and you may be eligible to receive up to $5000 in wage subsidies. The 听(厂奥笔笔) provides to eligible private sector and not-for-profit employers to assist them with the cost of hiring students.
Overview
- The program provides 50% (to a maximum of $5000.00) of a student鈥檚 pay in wage subsidies to employers.
- Employers can hire students in any program
- Students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment to qualify for funding from SWPP
- Federal, Provincial, Territorial and Municipal governments are NOT eligible for SWPP funding
- Private sector employers based in , and Manitoba who hire a co-op student for a full-time work term can qualify for a tax credit of up to $3,000 as part of the Co-operative Education Tax Credit.
How to Apply
This funding is being administered by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) through delivery partners representing target industry sectors. The delivery partners are responsible for managing the approval and distribution of the wage subsidies.
