• Hives may be booked up to 30 days in advance.
• *Book ahead! Hives may be booked up to 14 hours ahead of arrival.*
• A maximum of 10 hours per week may be booked.
• All bookings start on the hour for one-hour intervals.
• Bookings may not start on the half hour currently.

• The Hive booking and operations work differently to other event spaces at CDCC. Memberships are in place to ensure that that everyone has an opportunity for a full orientation and introduction to The Hive environment.
• Please allow up to 14 days for hive membership processing, which includes mandatory hive orientation.
• CDCC reserves the right to revoke memberships when procedures or protocols are not being followed, when users have exceeded the maximum capacity in a booked room, etc.
• Access to other great CDCC spaces remain available when a membership is not in place or if a membership is expired/cancelled.
• Memberships expire on July 31 each year.  Membership renewals can be requested starting from August 1 each year.

• The Hive aims to support Arts, Performance and Learning activity! Community members, including residents of Ottawa and the surrounding region as well as �Ӱ�ԭ�� University students/staff/faculty, may apply for a hive membership to book and pay online for hive access.
• Members are responsible for any guests who may be joining their booking. Please note the maximum capacity per room.
• �Ӱ�ԭ�� students who are enrolled in a full-time academic course held at CDCC have some additional access to The Hive per academic term, with details provided during classes at the beginning of the academic year or by student emailing The Hive.
• Members to be 18 years of age or older, or a currently registered �Ӱ�ԭ�� student for contract signing.

• After you’ve made a booking and upon arriving to The Hive, there is a tablet in the main lobby for members to sign in.
• Please also remember to sign out when you are leaving on the same tablet.
• Your membership/”client id” number is required for signing in and out (this number located on your booking invoice or in your startup paperwork).
• If you or a member or your group arrives early, please wait in the lobby area until the the beginning of your assigned booking hour(s).
• Please ensure that your meetings and cleanup have wrapped up prior to end of your booking time.  Consider booking extra time if you know that a meeting could run overtime.

Please be respective and courteous to all fellow CDCC user groups. Please note that sitting and “hanging out” in CDCC corridors outside The Hive is not possible to avoid impacting other events.

Please note that The Hive is primarily managed via online members portal, and it may take a few business days for a staff person to return emailed inquiries.

• You can cancel your own booking online in your portal.
• Once logged into the portal, select the applicable invoice and select the red/underlined time to make the cancellation.
• Do cancel online as soon as you know you will not be using your hive so another fellow member can have access.
• Cancellations to be reimbursed to the original method of payment if cancelled prior to 48hrs ahead of the booking start time. Cancellations made within 48hrs of the booking will not be reimbursed.
• Reimbursements may take up to 30 days for full processing.
• Please stay home and cancel your booking if you are not feeling well.

• The Hive is a unique space at CDCC that does not have event support staff. CDCC staff will be unable to support any equipment/technical requirements at this time.
• Individual users are required to bring and run their own supplies/technology and provide all necessary cables/adaptors, extra music stands, etc.  The Hive is truly “self-governed.”
• All supplies or equipment also need to be brought in and out daily as onsite storage is not available.
• If you may require additional support or equipment for your event, CDCC has various other fantastic event spaces and event support that can be booked by emailing CDCC@carleton.ca

• Food and beverage is authorized in each hive. Please do cleanup after your session, including wiping down tables and ensuring all garbage/recycling/crumbs are cleaned up.
• Alcohol, cannabis and/or any other smoking products are not permitted at any time in The Hive.
• A shared kitchenette is available for all hive members during their booking time only.
• The kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, and sink.  Of note, the fridge is emptied regularly.
• All other serviceware to be provided by the individual users including cups/napkins/utensils/etc.

• Main entrance at 290 Lisgar Street.
• Please visit the CDCC website for up-to-date parking & visitor’s information: 

• Building entrance ramp and elevator available.
• Accessible and gender inclusive washrooms located nearby The Hive main entrance.
• There are no steps or ledges leading into each of the hives.
• Please reach out to TheHive@carleton.ca to inquire about any special circumstances related to accessibility.

• Equity, safety and well-being is a priority for �Ӱ�ԭ��, CDCC and The Hive. Please report any inappropriate or unsafe behavior to the main office.
• We are also not responsible for lost or stolen items.  A lost and found is located in the CDCC main office.

All hive booking fees automatically include the purchase of �Ӱ�ԭ�� University’s third party facility user commercial general liability insurance.

• The building is air conditioned during summer months and heated during the winter months. Of note, each individual room temperature or humidity is unable to be adjusted.
• Please also note that there is an engineered fresh-air schedule and MERV-13 air filters servicing this area throughout the year.

Please note that silence will not always be possible in this wing! The Hive is intended for active meetings and performance practice time and residual noise can be expected between rooms or from outside the facility.

• Hives are cleaned daily, but thank you to all members for helping to keep the area tidy!
• Paper towel and spray to be available in each hive or kitchenette, and please notify staff for any major clean-up requirements.
• Please do keep wet/dirty/salty outdoor shoes in The Hive lobby to help keep the carpets clean.
• Masking tape or painters tape only to be used on The Hive walls if posting signs to help keep walls clean.

• Thank you for noting that there is no access to printing at this time.

• Hives A/B/C/D/F are ready for acoustic music playing.
• Please note that drum kits and playing group amplified live music is not possible at this time. One single small amp is possible for solo practice time only.
• These restrictions are currently in place for sound bleed considerations to downstairs and nearby spaces.

• Filming/recording/photography is authorized in any hive, but please note that silence from nearby spaces may not apply. And, please note that filming/recording/photography should not be conducted in common areas such as in hallways, in the kitchen or of other guests in the building without consent.

• Do say hi to each other and learn about each other’s work when in common areas! But, do respect people when they have their hive doors closed, and if someone shares they are on a tight timeline when crossing paths.
• There is a pamphlet board on the ground level of the building where you are invited to share about your Arts, Performance and Learning projects in the community!
• Share the buzz about your experience by using #HivingAtCDCC
