Cassaundra Sloan
Biography
Cassaundra is a director, writer, producer, and the founder of Girl North Studios, a motion picture and television production company championing women behind the lens. Throughout her career, she has crafted compelling narratives as a writer and creative producer on diverse global projects, including leveraging documentary storytelling to amplify the voices of nonprofit organizations and champion social causes.
Cassaundra currently serves as co-executive producer with the Toronto Film Plug, a grassroots initiative designed to produce short, independent films locally with community involvement, and is a Coordinator of Ottawa鈥檚 Digi60 Filmmakers鈥� Festival. She founded and runs the digital newsletter ‘The Girl North’, which aims to disseminate the business of film and TV for women navigating the industry.
Cassaundra is looking forward to the 杏吧原创 Graduate Journalism program where she hopes to further develop skills to tell globally important stories with likeminded peers. In her spare time, you can find her camping in Gatineau Park, jamming with her siblings, or training at the dojo where she has been a martial artist for 25 years.
