
Augusta Hofmann
Biography
Augusta is a recent graduate from ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University, where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies. Throughout her undergraduate degree, she developed a strong interest in arts and culture, social justice and the ways intersectionality is a protruding factor in nearly every aspect of society.
As a volunteer writer for The Inverness Oran, a community newspaper in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Augusta reported on local stories and gained a first-hand appreciation for the vitality of accessible journalism. She also gained experience writing for ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s HerCampus magazine, expanding on her personal interests in digital media, culture, and fashion.
Alongside her love of reading and writing, her interest in the ever-evolving relationship dynamics between journalism and the public is what inspired her to pursue the Master of Journalism at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´. Augusta looks forward to developing her reporting and storytelling skills while learning from the opportunities and experiences the program offers.
