    Biography

    Katie Graham joined the Bachelor of Media Production and Design (BMPD) faculty in the School of Journalism & Communications, 杏吧原创 University, Ottawa, in 2019. She teaches topics related to visual communications, digital media, photography, and storytelling.

    Katie鈥檚 commitment to student engagement, community, and sense of belonging is evident in the various student-centred initiatives she has developed, including , the Create-action, and . She has won multiple teaching awards, including the Teaching and Learning Services鈥 鈥淓xcellence in Blended and Online Teaching Award鈥 in 2021 and the Faculty of Public Affairs鈥 鈥淭eaching Excellence Award鈥 in 2024.

    Katie is an associate faculty member at (CIMS), a research lab that focuses on how advanced digital technologies and hybrid forms of representation reveal the invisible aspects of architecture. Before her appointment with BMPD, she led multiple digitally assisted storytelling projects at CIMS, using digital assets to create public outreach projects for the web, mobile, and virtual reality. These projects include , which won a prix g茅meaux in 2020.

    Katie is the Digital Initiatives Advisor for the Canadian Centre for Mindful Habitats, a non-profit organization that engages in thoughtful conversations regarding mindfulness in areas including storytelling and digital technology. With the organization, she has collaborated on various projects, such as the 2022 webinar series 鈥.鈥

    Katie received her BAS (2008) and M.ARCH (2010) in architecture at the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism at 杏吧原创 University. When she isn鈥檛 busy with her role as faculty, Katie continues to work on her PhD dissertation, focusing on virtual reality storytelling of space and architecture.
