Biography
Caroline O鈥橬eill is a journalist and educator who recently produced CTV鈥檚 Power Play with Vassy Kapelos from the network鈥檚 parliamentary bureau; there she secured two exclusive interviews with NATO鈥檚 secretary general, produced coverage of the 2022 so-called 鈥楩reedom Convoy,鈥� and field-produced U.S. President Joe Biden鈥檚 address to the House of Commons.
She was an instructor with the Bachelor of Media Production and Design (MPAD) during the 2023-2024 academic year through a limited term appointment.
O鈥橬eill looks forward to teaching MPAD courses on writing, civics, and social media this academic year, in addition to her own studies. As an instructor, she is interested in the different ways the classroom can spark civic literacy and community engagement.
She was part of a team that won a 2024 Canadian Screen Award for Best Political News Program or Series, and she was nominated along with the Power Play team for the 2022 Canadian Screen Award for Talk Program or Series.
O鈥橬eill is also an advisory committee member for the Mindtrust Leadership Development Program, which offers leadership training and opportunities to Ottawa youth.
