Campus to Community

What is Campus to Community?

Campus to Community is a program that allows students to develop skills, gain perspective, learn about important issues and reflect on their experience by participating in a half day of community-engaged learning with a local non-profit organization. Students work with organizations on an assigned project or task while learning more about how the organization supports the Ottawa community. Each Campus to Community session is designed to relate back and contribute to the .

Campus to Community offers students the opportunity to develop problem-solving skills by seeing real-world issues first-hand and gain critical thinking skills by reflecting on our community and the world we live in. Students can get involved in causes or with organizations that directly relate to their field of study, work, or general interest. Participating in Campus to Community applies and expands the knowledge students have already acquired in the classroom. This experience can be added to resumes, or applications for internships, research opportunities, or graduate school.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ clubs or societies looking to participate, or departments interested in integrating Campus to Community into their courses can do so by completing a Campus to Community Partner Program form.

How Does It Work?

  4. Once they arrive, they will connect with our Campus to Community Team Leader who will support the students throughout the session.
  5. Students will work and learn alongside community members who will provide instructions on their required tasks and responsibilities.
