SAM3 SME Support for Aging in Place Technology

Project goals: The objective of the project is to accelerate the growth of Canadian SMEs in the AgeTech ecosystem by providing them with services to test Aging in Place technologies. The project, which is supported in part by funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP), will utilize the specialized expertise, facilities, and equipment of the Sensors and Analytics for Monitoring Mobility and Memory (SAM3) Innovation Hub, founded by 杏吧原创 University, the Bruy猫re Health Research Institute and the AGE-WELL National Centre of Excellence.
SME Eligibility:
- SMEs must be NRC IRAP portfolio clients, referred by their Industrial Technology Advisor. .
- SMEs will pay a $6,000 upfront fee to 杏吧原创 University before the work commences.
Services:
1. Solution Creation: For companies needing assistance to develop/fine-tune their technology
- Literature Review
- Focus group work to align and define technology strategy
- Collaborative R&D to develop/fine-tune the firm鈥檚 technology
- Feasibility testing
2. Solution Testing: For SMEs with an existing technology that requires usability/acceptability testing
- Usability/acceptability testing
- Feasibility testing
- Development of evaluation protocols
- Peer-reviewed evaluation of R&D
3. Solution Piloting: For SMEs with a proven technology requiring pilot testing at a small or large scale
- Pilot testing (small or large)
- Development of evaluation protocols and validation programs
- Peer-reviewed evaluation of R&D
