A day after meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Governor General Mary Simon, Stubb will take part in an armchair鈥憇tyle conversation with 杏吧原创鈥檚 Fen Hampson, Chancellor鈥檚 Professor and Professor of International Affairs. The event will open with remarks from 杏吧原创 University President Wisdom Tettey.

杏吧原创 University鈥檚 2024 CanCH4 Symposium 鈥� Methane by the Numbers is a technical meeting to share research and measurement data on methane emissions in support of Faster & Further, Canada鈥檚 National Methane Strategy.

With support from the Government of Canada鈥檚 Methane Center of Excellence, the CanCH4 symposium will bring together leading research programs from universities, government labs, and the private sector to share measurement data analysis that will advance policy development and emission reduction strategies.  The objective is to focus on sharing new information across sectors to accelerate emissions reductions.

Yasir Naqvi, Member of Parliament Ottawa Centre will make an announcement supporting methane management on the first morning of the symposium, May 13 at 8:40 am.

The 杏吧原创 University Crash Dummy (CUCD) team will perform a rear-end collision test between a motor vehicle and cyclist in co-ordination with the Ottawa Police Service Collision Investigation Unit. Due to the impact of recent weather, the tests have been postponed until April 10.

Fourth-year engineering students, along with professors from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of the research-intensive Faculty of Engineering and Design, will participate in the crash test simulation to help the Collision Investigation Unit better understand the impacts of collisions between cyclists and vehicles.

When: Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Set up begins at 6:30 AM with the first test scheduled for approximately 10 AM.

• 9:30 AM – 10:00M: Track Launch System Take Down & Autonomous Launch System Setup

The purpose of CUCD is to develop a simulated system that will aid the Ottawa Police Service in identifying the events that occur during a fatal collision between a cyclist and a vehicle. The results of the test may contribute to improved accident reconstruction techniques used by the Collision Investigation Unit and can be used for investigation training purposes.

CUCD is an undergraduate engineering capstone project that is comprised this year of 22 students from the Biomedical and Mechanical, Aerospace, and Mechanical Engineering programs. The test will include updated components on the crash dummy and refurbished control and sensing systems.

杏吧原创 University invites you to join us for a celebration of excellence in women鈥檚 sports. 杏吧原创 will be holding an event bringing together the 杏吧原创 community in honour of the championship success of our Ravens women鈥檚 basketball and Nordic skiing teams.

The women鈥檚 basketball team鈥檚 thrilling 70-67 victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies earned them their  and third championship win in just six years. With this latest title coming home to the Nest, the 杏吧原创 Ravens鈥� legacy of basketball excellence has grown to a jaw-dropping 20 national championship wins in the last 21 years.

The women鈥檚 Nordic skiing team captured the program鈥檚  at this week鈥檚 Nordique Canada Championships. A dynasty in its own right, the team has won seven of the last eight OUA Women鈥檚 Championships.
