From Sept. 15 to 22, 2019, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University will welcome 10,000 alumni and members of the community to campus for .
At Throwback, people come together to share memories, highlight ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´â€™s achievements and celebrate its enduring commitment to community engagement.
This features art exhibitions, fascinating guest lectures, a community rally and a football game.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University Art Gallery to Celebrate Opening of Fall Exhibitions
When: Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: CUAG, St. Patrick’s Building, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´
Access: This event is free and open to the public. ASL interpretation will be provided.

CUAG’s new exhibitions are: Rah: SuperNova; Olivia Johnston: Saints and Madonnas; Sites of Memory: Legacies of the Japanese Canadian Internment; and Inheriting Redress: The Japanese Community Association Archive.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Adapts
When: Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 at 6 p.m.
Where: Alumni Reading Room, MacOdrum Library, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´
At ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Adapts, panelists will defend their favourite book-to-movie adaptation. After hearing the three to five-minute defences, audience members will vote on the winner and the chosen film will be screened.
The Divine Nature of Leonardo

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University Art History Prof. Randi Klebanoff will present the lecture The Divine Nature of Leonardo. While modern audiences embrace Leonardo da Vinci as a secular scientist and artistic genius, Klebanoff will examine da Vinci’s work through concepts of God and the cosmos that informed his 15th century world.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ to Host Re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Masterpiece

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University will host a , by artist Francois Pelletier on the floor of the University Centre Galleria. Following the Italian tradition of the Madonnari, Pelletier will use temporary mediums such as chalks and pastels to reproduce this famous masterpiece.
2019 Attallah Lecture: War on Mobile Phones: Technology and Truth in the Age of Digital Witnessing

The School of Journalism and Communication will host the 2019 Attallah Lecture, War on Mobile Phones: Technology and Truth in the Age of Digital Witnessing, presented by Lilie Chouliaraki, chair of the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics.
In this lecture, Chouliaraki will discuss how user-generated content, especially from mobile phone footage in conflict zones, challenges journalists’ monopoly on the storytelling of war while facing questions about veracity, motives and sources.
2019 FPA Currents Lecture: Election Edition with David Coletto

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University will welcome alumnus David Coletto, chief executive officer and a founding partner of Abacus Data, as host of an expert panel to discuss pressing issues of the 2019 federal election as part of the Currents lecture organized by the Faculty of Public Affairs.
This lecture will explore the most important trends of the 2019 federal election. Coletto will share his perspective as a long-time political watcher and professional pollster. He and a panel of experts will discuss major election issues, political leaders, predictions and more.
Ravens Rally

Join the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ community prior to the Homecoming football game to enjoy a free performance by Little Bones. Little Bones is Ottawa’s own Tragically Hip tribute band and has performed in major venues and festivals since 1995.
Overflow Brewery, a local brewery and event venue, will be serving up their local craft beers in a licensed area. Overflow welcomed Little Bones in their venue last fall to a sold-out crowd and is excited to bring them back again.
Food trucks will be onsite with some local delicacies and a few other surprises are in store. There is sure to be something for everyone at the Ravens rally – whether you plan to attend the football game or not!
Homecoming Football Game: Ravens vs. Waterloo

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Dominion-Chalmers Centre to Celebrate Return of Rare Pipe Organ

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ University will celebrate the restoration of its 5,200-pipe Casavant organ – the centerpiece of its new performing arts space at the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Dominion-Chalmers Centre – with an afternoon of storytelling, music and community.
Featuring a lecture by esteemed organist Frances Macdonnell, a one-hour concert with accomplished organists Thomas Annand, Ian Bevell, James Calkin and Jennifer Loveless, plus an opportunity to tour the centre – the event showcases local talent and the cultural history of the heritage building.
