Adrienne Arsenault to Present Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture on the New Frontline at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ University’s School of Journalism and Communication, in collaboration with the , will host the third annual Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture – The New Frontline presented by Adrienne Arsenault, award-winning CBC senior correspondent and a host of The National.

In this lecture, Arsenault will draw on her extensive experience covering conflict and security issues at both the national and international level.

Arsenault’s career with the CBC has taken her to postings in Vancouver, Washington, Jerusalem and London.

Named the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association’s Journalist of the Year, she has won two Gracie awards for outstanding female correspondent. Her coverage of the Zimbabwean election was recognized with a Monte Carlo Festival award, and she has won several Gemini and Canadian Screen Awards.

Kristy Kirkup (BJ/09), parliamentary reporter with The Globe and Mail, will moderate the lecture. An award-winning journalist, Kirkup has worked for a number of major news organizations, including Sun Media, the CBC, CTV and The Canadian Press.

ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ the Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture

In 2017, ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´â€™s School of Journalism and Communication, through the generosity of Richard Stursberg and Judith Lawrie, established the Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture. The lecture honours the legacy of famed Canadian war correspondent Peter Stursberg (1913-2014), an adventurous and prolific journalist who was Canada’s last living war correspondent from the Second World War.
