After more than 2,000 people met in Geneva for the first , our partner and Co-applicant Dr. Jeff Crisp of the Refugee Studies Centre, shared his reflection on the international community鈥檚 future response to the refugee flow. Dr. Crisp predicts there will be a 鈥渃ontinuation of the exclusionary refugee policies currently pursued by many of the world鈥檚 most prosperous countries.鈥� But on the other hand, in the Global South where 85% of the world鈥檚 refugees are to be found, 鈥渢here will be a much stronger focus on market-oriented approaches to self-reliance, host community support and social inclusion, facilitated by the greater involvement of development actors and the private sector.鈥� Read more about his reflections

To further learn about next steps after the Forum, join our roundtable discussion on Thursday Jan 30. We will share insights from the Global Refugee Forum and ideas on how to support refugee participation in all aspects of refugee research, policy and practice.
