PC Outlook
- Speedstart-up of PC Outlook or openingof attachments:Disable anyOutlook Add-insyou don’t need:
Outlook> File > Options > Add-Ins > Go…
Uncheck all Add-Ins exceptMicrosoftExchange Add-In
“O”
- Speed up filing messagesin PC Outlook byEnabling Cached Mode.
Outlook> File > Account Settings> Account Settings…> Change…
Check “Use Cached Exchange Mode”
Click “next”, then “Finish”
Note: if you later have problems, the ITS Service Desk may have you disable Cached Modeas part of the troubleshooting process.
- Unreliable Connections to Exchange server? Try creating a new Outlook Profile:
Windows Start Menu> Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles…> Add… > Create New Profile
Enter new profile name and click “OK”
Enter name and email address (e.g.janedoe@cunet.carleton.caNOTjane.doe@carleton.caorjane_doe@carleton.ca)
Ensure Wi-Fi is disabled on your PC,if you are using a wired Ethernet connection:
Windows Start Menu> Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre
Turn off Wi-Fi (if enabled):Select Wi-Fi Network Properties and Disable.
