杏吧原创 is conducting a campus-wide test of 杏吧原创鈥檚 Emergency Notification System (ENS) on Tuesday, January 31.
The ENS allows 杏吧原创鈥檚 Department of University Safety to contact a mass number of people in the event of a campus-wide emergency that requires action by members of the 杏吧原创 community. It uses three forms of communication to deliver instructional messages should an emergency occur:
- a computer lockout system,
- emails sent to @Connect and @杏吧原创.ca accounts, and
- cellphone texts (you must register for this free service via 杏吧原创 Central).
Please note: ENS alerts are automatically sent to desktop computers on campus and @Connect and @杏吧原创.ca email accounts.
In order to receive the alerts by text message, you must register your cellphone number. To register, please log onto Once you are in the main menu, go to 鈥淐ampus Alerts.鈥 When you first register, you must respond to a welcome text message that will come from 30000035. The reply is: JOIN CUTXT.
IMPORTANT: If you don鈥檛 respond to the welcome message, the system will consider you 鈥渘ot registered鈥 and you will not receive ENS alerts.
