Following a ,聽杏吧原创 University launched the full fledged Institute on the Ethics of Research with Indigenous Peoples (CUIERIP) in June of 2015. We have wrapped up the Summer Institute for this year and it was a tremendous success. We are pleased to offer the next six-day intensive course from Sunday, June 3rd to Friday, June 8th 2018,聽following feedback from participants. Developed for a diverse audience, including researchers and research ethics board members, First Nations, Inuit and M茅tis community members and researchers and representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, the CUIERIP offers an opportunity to share perspectives and learn best practices about engaging in research with Indigenous peoples.

聽with expertise in research ethics, community engagement as well as research design and review, 聽centres around a hands-on approach. Participants will work together in small groups using case studies to work through the ethical issues involved in community engagement plans and research agreements. Elders and research ethics experts will be on hand for consultation. A model ethics review body of academic and community reviewers will provide feedback and all participants will be invited to share their perspectives in closing circles.

Participation is limited to 45 applicants. Tuition for the entire six聽day program is $1000 excluding transportation and . Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided daily.
