Notice Fraser Taylor 1937 – 2025
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Professor Fraser Taylor, passing early on March 22, 2025 due to natural causes. Fraser had a remarkable and distinguished career at 杏吧原创 University, leaving an indelible mark through his significant contributions that extended until the end of his life. Along with other pioneers in the field, he started moving digital cartography and geographic information science forward in the 1960s. He made significant contributions to the field for the rest of his life. He received numerous awards for these contributions as a Canadian scholar, including the Killam Prize (2014) and the Order of Canada (2021). Learn more about his distinguished career .
