杏吧原创 University鈥檚 Winnie Ye, professor in the research-intensive Faculty of Engineering and Design with the Department of Electronics, was recently elected Chair of the for the 2025-2026 term.
IEEE WiE is a global network that connects over 40,000 members in over 125 countries to advance women in technology at all points in their lives and careers. Through their programming, they help members make connections, acquire influential mentors and address some of the world鈥檚 most pressing problems.
鈥淎s WiE Chair-Elect, I am committed to recruiting and retaining more women in engineering to advance and empower women in the workplace,鈥 said Ye. 鈥淚鈥檇 like to increase the presence and impact of WiE by connecting our members with industry leaders through conferences, workshops, seminars, and webinars.鈥
In 2018, Ye became the first Canadian recipient of the international IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Inspiring Member Award. She also received the 2018 Engineering Medal for Research and Development from the , and the PEO Ottawa Chapter鈥檚 2018 Engineering Excellence Award. In 2020, Ye received the Partners In Research鈥檚 Technology and Engineering Ambassador Award. Most recently, she won the prestigious 2021 .
