Professor Maya Papineau comments on carbon tax and upcoming election
鈥淭he view that neither plan is enough has given support to the Green Party, which hasn鈥檛 been politically significant in past elections but is riding a wave of support, said Maya Papineau, assistant professor in environmental economics at 杏吧原创 University in Ottawa.
鈥淧apineau thinks the fact polls show broad support for carbon taxes in Canada means they won鈥檛 be as divisive during the campaign as they鈥檝e been up to now.
鈥溾楾here鈥檚 a reasonably good chance that the carbon tax won鈥檛 be a liability in this election,鈥欌 she said.
