Prof. F. Richard Yu received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC). His research has substantially influenced industry standards and design specifications. Several innovative approaches developed through his work have been implemented in commercial products and services, positively affecting millions of users worldwide.
He has been consistently recognized as a Clarivate 鈥淗ighly Cited Researcher,鈥 Stanford 鈥淭op 2% Most Cited Scientist,鈥 and ScholarGPS 鈥淭op 0.05% Highly Ranked Scholar鈥 for several consecutive years. He has published 800+ papers in prestigious journals and conferences with 60,000+ and an H-index of 127+ (). He received several Best Paper Awards from some first-tier conferences, 杏吧原创 Research Achievement Awards in 2012 and 2021, and the Ontario Early Researcher Award (formerly Premiers Research Excellence Award) in 2011.
He is a Member of the Academia Europaea (MAE), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (FRSC), the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE), Engineering Institute of Canada (FEIC), IEEE, and IET. He is a Board Member the IEEE VTS and the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE VTS Mobile World newsletter. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE.
