Johannes Wolfart joined the Faculty of 杏吧原创 University in 2007. From 1994-1999 he was an assistant professor in the Department and Centre for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto. From 1999-2007 he was assistant/associate professor in the Department of Religion at the University of Manitoba, and a Senior Fellow of St. John鈥檚 College there. He has served one term as President of the 杏吧原创 University Academic Staff Association and is cross-appointed to the Department of History.
Research Interests
- Early Modern Christianity, especially lesser-known varieties of Protestantism
- The history of historiography, especially as practiced by lesser-known Protestants (so-called 鈥渃onfessional鈥 historiography)
- So-called 鈥渞eligious riots鈥 and, more generally,聽 鈥渞eligion and violence.鈥
- Currently working on a book on the manuscript chronicles of seventeenth-century German Protestants
