Nadine Simpson is a graduate student聽and student researcher聽at 杏吧原创 University in the Master of Sciences program. Nadine is a passionate advocate for students and equity-owed populations聽and聽served聽as CUPE Health Sciences Steward for 2025/26.聽

Nadine has years of leadership experience stemming from her community work in providing peer support and systems navigation聽with聽a聽Community Advisory Board. Equipped with an intersectional, systems-level approach to governance decisions and firsthand experience engaging with academic institutions, healthcare systems, housing providers, and government bodies.聽Nadine鈥檚聽experience聽has given her聽insight into how policy decisions translate into real-world impacts, especially for students balancing caregiving, financial strain, disability, or mental health challenges.聽Nadine takes an聽evidence-informed聽approach to聽decision-making, data interpretation, and risk assessment聽and couples that聽with experience in policy analysis and knowledge translation,聽and her work聽synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable recommendations that support accountability, sustainability, and student success.聽

Nadine has volunteered with numerous organizations; she provided mental health support for peers and shared her experiences and stories at public speaking events through her work with The Royal and with the Ottawa Black Mental Health Coalition. Nadine also was a volunteer and community leader as a member of the Tenant Circle advocating for an agreement to build a walking path in her community.

Nadine has been appointed to the Board of Governors for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
