President Runte to Pursue New Leadership Opportunity

President Roseann O鈥橰eilly Runte to Pursue New Leadership Opportunity Effective July 31

杏吧原创 University鈥檚 Board of Governors has accepted, with regret, the resignation of its president and vice-chancellor, Roseann O鈥橰eilly Runte, who is leaving the university to pursue another leadership opportunity after nine years of service to the university. Her departure was announced at the March 23 board meeting and is effective July 31, 2017.

鈥淩oseann Runte has provided exceptional and stable leadership to the 杏吧原创 University community since her appointment as the first female president and vice-chancellor,鈥 said Chris Carruthers, chair of the Board of Governors. 鈥淗er top priority has always been our students and the educational mission of the university.

“Our students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and partners have all benefited from her exemplary leadership and commitment to 杏吧原创. On behalf of our Board of Governors, I want to thank Roseann for her transformative leadership at the university. Because of her leadership, 杏吧原创 is stronger than ever and ready to achieve even greater heights in the future.鈥

Carruthers stressed that the university is in its historic 75th anniversary year and that a strong team is in place as the university embarks on a search process to identify the next president to lead 杏吧原创 for the next five to 10 years.

The president will conclude her term on July 31, 2017. The board will work with management to develop a transition plan according to the board鈥檚 bylaws.

Details of President Runte鈥檚 new leadership role will be released in the coming week.
