Summer 2026: Applying for Full-Time OSAP

Students can now complete a Summer 2026 OSAP application for full-time students on the . Be sure to submit your application before the deadline on June 24, 2026.

Summer Extensions

If you are taking a full-time course load in just the early summer session (May鈥揓une) OR just the just the late summer session (July鈥揂ugust) AND received full-time OSAP funding for one or both of the fall/winter terms, then you can apply for summer funding using one of the extension forms below:

Early Summer Extension Form. The submission deadline for this form is May 18, 2026.

Late Summer Extension Form.聽The submission deadline for this form is July 14, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to apply for OSAP, you must:

Application Instructions

Step 1 鈥 Start a new Full-time OSAP application.

  • Log into your .
  • To start a new full-time application, click the “Apply for full-time” blue button.
In the OSAP account, a red box highlights the 鈥楢pply for full-time鈥 button.

Step 2 鈥 Select your start date and school.

  • When you are asked when your classes start, select May 2026 and click “Next”.

Note:

If you applied for funding during the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter study period then you may receive a pop-up saying that you already have applications on file. Click “Ok” to start a new application for the summer study period.

  • On the next page, select “CARLETON UNIVERSITY” from the drop down menu.
  • You will be asked to link your OUAC account. Select “yes” if you previously used OUAC.

Note:

Some students run into a glitch where they are unable to link their OUAC account. If you run into this issue, select “No” to continue the application. This selection means you will simply have to fill in more personal information on the following pages.

Step 4 – Your student number.

  • You will be prompted to give your 杏吧原创 Student ID. It’s important to give your number here. Not providing your student number can cause delays in your application.

Step 5 鈥 Search for your program.

  • Use the program search function to find and select the correct program and study period for your application.
    • Use all of the optional filters to narrow your search results.
      • For your program name, enter a single keyword (or at most two) to identify your major (e.g. 鈥淗istory鈥, 鈥淎erospace鈥, or 鈥淎rt History鈥, 鈥淧olitical Science鈥)
      • Choose May as the month your program starts.
      • Program year refers to your academic year standing.
      • Do not include 鈥淪ummer鈥 as a keyword in your program search.
In program search, a red box highlights the 鈥榩rogram name', 'start month', 'year entering', and 'level of study' fields.

Step 6 鈥 Select your program.

  • Make sure to select the correct type of study period.
  • If you’re in a co-op:
    • Choose the co-op study term option if you will be registering for a full-time course load.
    • Choose the co-op work term option if you will be completing a work placement.
      • If you will be completing a co-op work placement and taking a class, choose the work term option and send us an email so we can update your application to reflect your additional tuition and fee costs.

Step 7 鈥 Course load

To receive full-time funding for the summer term, you must register in a summer course load that meets or exceeds 翱厂础笔鈥檚 minimum requirement for full-time study. If your summer course load will not meet the minimum requirement, apply for part-time OSAP instead.

  • Undergraduate students must be taking 60% or more of a full course load to be considered for the full-time student assistance program (Full-time OSAP). This means a minimum course load of 1.5 credits per term.
    • For Undergraduate students with a registered disability, a full-time course load is a minimum of 1.0 credits.
  • Graduate students must be designated as a full-time graduate student by the Office of Graduate Studies and register in at least 0.5 credits.
    • If you are a full-time graduate student, enter 100% as your percentage course load on the OSAP application.
    • If you鈥檙e a part-time student, you can view our post on applying for part-time OSAP for the 2026 Summer term.

Note:

If you are a part-time graduate student with a documented permanent disability, you may be eligible to apply for OSAP as a full-time student. Contact the Awards Office to determine how to proceed.

Step 8 鈥 Complete and submit your application.

  • The remainder of the application will ask you personal questions regarding your marital status, residency, living situation, etc. All of the questions are mandatory.

Note:

The application will ask you if you are receiving any bursaries and/or scholarships. Only fill in this section if you are receiving bursaries/scholarships external to 杏吧原创. Graduate students must fill in this section regardless of where they will be receiving bursaries/scholarships from.

  • Review your application carefully before you submit it.

Step 9 鈥 Upload required documentation.

You may need to upload documents to support your application. If so, they will be listed on the “Print/Upload” page of your online OSAP application. When you have them ready, scan them and return to the same page to upload them to your OSAP application. You should aim to get this done before your summer classes get underway.

  • The supporting document deadline for students registered in a full-time course load for the Full Summer (May – August) is July 14, 2026.

Step 10 鈥 Monitor your application

After you submit your application, monitor your 杏吧原创 email account for important messages from the Awards Office. Be sure to log in to your regularly to check for unread messages in your OSAP Message Centre.
