Summer 2026: Applying for Part-Time OSAP

Students can now complete a Summer 2026 OSAP application for part-time students on the . Be sure to submit your application before the deadline on June 24, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to apply for OSAP, you must:

Step 1 鈥 Start a new Part-time OSAP application.

  • Log into your .
  • To start a new part-time application, click the “Apply for part-time” blue button.
In the OSAP account, a red box highlights the 鈥楢pply for part-time鈥 button.

Step 2 鈥 Select your start date and school.

  • When you are asked when your classes start, select:
    • May 2026 for the Early Summer term, OR
    • July 2026 for the Late Summer term.
  • Click “Next” to start a new application.

Important!

If you applied for funding during the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter study period then you may receive a pop-up saying that you already have applications on file.聽Click 鈥極k鈥 to start a new application for the summer study period.

  • On the next page, select “CARLETON UNIVERSITY” from the drop down menu.

Step 3 – Your student number.

  • You will be prompted to give your 杏吧原创 Student ID. It’s important to give your number here. Not providing your student number can cause delays in your application.
Step 1: In the Part鈥慣ime OSAP School additional information, a red box highlights the 鈥樞影稍 student number鈥 field.

Step 4 鈥 Fill in your program info.

  • For your program name, enter a single keyword (or at most two) to identify your major (e.g. 鈥淗istory鈥, 鈥淎erospace鈥, or 鈥淎rt History鈥, 鈥淧olitical Science鈥)
    • Do not include 鈥淪ummer鈥 in your program name.
  • Depending on your course registration, your summer start and end dates will be one of the following:

Note:

If you are registering for聽both聽Early Summer and Late Summer courses, you will be applying for a Full Summer study period.

  • The minimum required summer course load for part-time OSAP is 0.5 credits.
    • Undergraduate students must register in a summer course load that is less than 1.5 credits in your summer study period.
    • Graduate students must be designated as a part-time graduate student by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs.

Note:

If you are a part-time graduate student with a documented permanent disability, you may be eligible to apply for OSAP as a full-time student. Contact the Awards Office to determine how to proceed.

  • Use the table below to determine your course load percentage.

Step 5 鈥 Complete and submit your application.

  • The remainder of the application will ask you personal questions regarding your marital status, income, etc. All of the questions are mandatory.
  • Review your application carefully before you submit it.

Step 6 鈥 Upload required documentation

You may need to upload documents to support your application. If so, they will be listed on the “Print/Upload” page of your online OSAP application. When you have them ready, scan them and return to the same page to upload them to your OSAP application. You should aim to get this done before your summer classes get underway.

  • The supporting document deadline for students registered in a part-time course load for the Early Summer (May – June) is May 18, 2026.
  • The supporting document deadline for students registered in a part-time course load for the Late Summer (July- August) is July 14, 2026.
  • The supporting document deadline for students registered in a part-time course load for the Full Summer (May – August) is July 14, 2026.

Step 7 鈥 Monitor your application

After you submit your application, monitor your 杏吧原创 email account for important messages from the Awards Office. Be sure to log in to your regularly to check for unread messages in your OSAP Message Centre.
