The (CCSL) is the focal point of computer security research in 杏吧原创鈥檚 School of Computer Science.聽 Research areas include applied cryptography, authentication and identity management, intrusion detection and network monitoring, routing security, security and usability, software protection and application security, and web security and privacy.聽 CCSL members also work closely with members of the pan-Canadian initiative and 杏吧原创鈥檚 , a new research area combining human-commuter interaction (HCI) and computer security.聽 It aims to design 鈥渟ecure systems that people can use鈥 and recognizes that even the most secure system will fail if it is used incorrectly or bypassed by users.
The Huawei-TELUS Innovation Centre for Enterprise Cloud Services opened January 12, 2012, at 杏吧原创 University. The centre was created through a $1.4-million investment made by Huawei and TELUS. The centre, located in 杏吧原创鈥檚 engineering building, is a venue for cutting-edge research in cloud computing. Students, faculty and industry partners research real-world problems associated with enterprise clouds, including management of computing, on-demand storage and network resources, data-centre networking, scalability, business continuity and security.
