All research conducted by faculty, staff or students at 杏吧原创 University that involves animals, human participants or biohazardous materials must receive approval from the appropriate board and/or committee. Research proposals that involve research with Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous communities, Indigenous languages, Indigenous lands, waters and territories, Indigenous cultures and Indigenous knowledges must receive approval from 杏吧原创 University’s Indigenous Research Ethics Board (IREB).聽 All research involving humans conducted by faculty, staff or students at 杏吧原创 University will then be approved by a 杏吧原创 University Research Ethics Board (CUREB-A or CUREB-B).

Community-based Indigenous Research Ethics Boards take precedence over the 杏吧原创 University Indigenous Research Ethics board. If the Indigenous community has an IREB in place, the researcher is to first follow their process and then return to the 杏吧原创 University IREB.
