Gazelle Manuel is a graduate student currently pursuing her studies聽at聽杏吧原创 University in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.聽Her research interests include critical multiculturalism studies, the sociology of food and cuisine, immigrant/ethnic entrepreneurship, and the Filipino Diaspora in Canada.
Gazelle has spent several聽years working in disability-related fields (the University of Winnipeg, Government of Manitoba’s Children’s Disability Services, Canadian Centre on聽Disability Studies), in addition to working a variety of research assistantships at the University of Winnipeg (Women’s and Gender Studies; Sociology; Community Health) over the years.
Gazelle became interested in the TDKRA project due to her聽previous work and research experience, and also because she is interested in issues pertaining to the Global South and disability studies on聽a personal level, as a Southeast Asian Woman with disabilities.
