A meditation group
Jacob Raz, head of East Asian Studies at University of Tel Aviv – refers tantalizingly in this article to a café in Tel Aviv that functions as a Zen monastery –
In his new book, entitled “Kakh Shamati” (“So I’ve Heard,” Modan Press; in Hebrew), Raz details the daily schedule of the monastery. There is teeth brushing and also meditation and also sitting opposite Moshe the clerk at the National Insurance Institute office.
The anti-missionary organization Yad L’Achim has issued a warning against a new Buddhist center which is set to open in Israel’s Arava region.
Not really a temple, more like a sacred space inaugurated in a high-rise building.
