SPPA Professor , alongside Alison Smith and Genevieve Fuji Johnson, has just published a powerful new article in Oxford Academic titled:
“Relationships, Trust and Accountability, and Critical Reflexivity: Developing Quality Data with the ‘Hard to Reach’”

This piece explores how strong relationships, trust, accountability, and critical reflexivity are essential to producing meaningful, high-quality data when working with marginalized communities. Through three compelling fieldwork vignettes, the authors illustrate why relational research is crucial for truly understanding and representing the realities of those often considered “hard to reach.”
