“Without a doubt my time at 杏吧原创 set the stage for what since has been a productive and deeply fulfilling academic career. I came to 杏吧原创 as a MA student nervous to return to academia after two years in the workforce. As a first-gen college student, I was coming to graduate school without mentorship and with absolutely no insight into the 鈥渉idden curriculum鈥 of academia. 杏吧原创鈥檚 Anthropology program, with its small class sizes and exceptionally supportive faculty and admin staff, were exactly what I needed to excel. I found that unlike other larger universities, the department at 杏吧原创 treated their MA students like colleagues. With strong supervision from Jen Pylypa and additional exceptional mentorship from Blair Rutherford, I found confidence in myself as a scholar and producer of anthropological knowledge. I also strongly consider the fact that the department offers degrees in both sociology and anthropology one of its strengths. I came to the program unfamiliar with sociology but left with a deep appreciation of the discipline and, more broadly, for interdisciplinary research and writing.”
