Before joining 杏吧原创鈥檚 ESLA program in 2017, Mike taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at the University of British Columbia and English literature in Quebec鈥檚 CEGEP system. His current language pedagogy interests include adapting EAP methodology in the era of generative AI, as well as modelling learner vocabulary knowledge and using automatic text profilers to match students to reading texts (the text profiling website he helped create for ESLA faculty and students can be found ). In addition, he works on Indigenous language revitalization pedagogy in his role as consultant on 杏吧原创鈥檚 project with the First Nation of Na-Cho Ny盲k Dun in Mayo, Yukon.
