On February 10, Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) will be hosting a session with ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ University’s Teaching Mentors to learn more about how they navigate challenging teaching situations.

Don Myles, Faculty Teaching Mentor for the School of Linguistics and Language Studies, will be part of the discussion. Myles specializes in Teaching English as a Second (or additional) Language (TESL) and helps students to become effective English language teachers for adult learners.

“Whether it’s generative AI, academic integrity issues, disruptive classroom behaviour, or general disengagement, every instructor regardless of level of experience regularly faces teaching situations that see them struggling to identify the ‘right’ way forward. In this case-based ‘un-workshop’ led by some of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´â€™s Teaching Mentors, participants will identify their top-of-mind challenging teaching situations and then, using cases, discuss options for effectively managing and preventing them.”
