Kwän Dék’án’ Do Research Project Showcase

On Thursday, February 26, faculty and students from the School of Linguistics and Language Studies, along with colleagues and students from the School of Information Technology and Sprott School of Business, their projects done in collaboration with the  as part of a project titled  (“to keep the fire burning,” in the Northern Tutchone language).

In this hybrid workshop, faculty and students from SLaLS presented applications for language translation and learning and discussed their research approach, grounded in community-driven design, land-based learning, and technology sovereignty. 

This project is supported by a larger partnership with the Office of the Commissioner of Indigenous Languages (OCIL) and aims at language and cultural revitalization using advanced technologies such as AI and VR. The presentations are .
