Hyounjeong Yoo Receives Funding Through CUELF
Congratulations to Hyounjeong Yoo for receiving funding through the 杏吧原创 University Experiential Learning Fund (CUELF) for her project, titled “Contraflow Pedagogies: Reimagining Korean Language Learning Through Critical Cultural Engagement.”

“This innovative initiative explores how Korean language learners perceive textbooks and course materials, emphasizing student voice rather than traditional educator-centered perspectives,” Yoo, coordinator for Korean language programming at 杏吧原创, shares. “By integrating critical cultural content and moving beyond Western-centric frameworks, the project aims to foster more inclusive, authentic, and globally informed learning experiences.”
“Through this research-driven pedagogical approach, students engage with real-world cultural texts, media, and community-based learning to broaden their understanding of Korean language and identity beyond conventional narratives. The project reflects 杏吧原创鈥檚 commitment to experiential learning and culturally responsive education.”
