Peggy Hartwick and Rachelle Vessey Receive Funding Through CUELF
Teaching and Learning Services announced that聽fourteen projects have been awarded funding聽through the聽杏吧原创 University Experiential Learning Fund (CUELF), and we are pleased to share that Professors Peggy Hartwick and Rachelle Vessey have each received funding for their experiential learning projects.
Hartwick’s project is titled “Promoting success across campus: Developing a toolkit for the effective integration of experiential learning opportunities with a digital storytelling framework.” Using Pressbooks, Hartwick will develop a toolkit that facilitates the integration of course or program-level experiential learning opportunities across disciplines. Designed in collaboration with 杏吧原创 students, faculty and staff, the toolkit will support faculty implementation and students practicing reflection and knowledge integration within a digital storytelling framework.
Vessey’s project, titled “Discourse and employability,” will have students participate in an applied research project and build their practical skills by using discourse analysis to examine real workplace-related texts such as job advertisements, CVs, and cover letters. The project will make discourse analysis more relatable, increasing the effectiveness of learning and linking theory to practice. According to Vessey, this project “would leverage the student’s academic training for the purpose of increasing their familiarization and critical engagement with the job market.”
