SLaLS Graduate Student Wins Academic Excellence Award
SLaLS congratulates MA student Hesam Farahani on winning the Full-time Student Academic Excellence Award from the Graduate Students’ Association.
The $1000 GSA Full-time Student Academic Excellence Award is awarded annually in the Winter term to a returning, full-time graduate student, at either the Master’s or Doctoral level, who has demonstrated academic excellence while studying at Ӱԭ, but who has not received any internal or external funding.
The future of this award, however, is at risk due to potential impact from the recent Student Choice Initiative enacted by this year the Ontario government. A notice on the GSA website reads:
