On November 14, SLaLS was visited by Ms. Iwanaga from The Japan Foundation. Ms. Iwanaga presented us with a certificate of membership in the Sakura Network, a group of 6 universities in Canada noted by the Japan Foundation  for their excellence in Japanese language teaching. Membership in the Sakura Network allows SLaLS access to a range of exclusive funding opportunities.

In the photos you can see the framed certificate, and Dr David Wood, Director of SLaLS, Ms. Iwanaga of the Japan Foundation, Yoko Azuma, Japanese Language Instructor in SLALS, and Mami Sasaki and Yoriko Aizu, senior contract instructors in the Japanese program in SLaLS.
