It is with deep sadness that we inform the 杏吧原创 community of the death of Sylvain Pitre, Manager, Research Computing Services, who passed away on Feb. 23, 2019, after a brief illness.
Dr. Pitre has been associated with the School of Computer Science since 2001 where he completed his Master鈥檚 in Computer Science (M.C.S), Ph.D. in Computer Science, and was a MITACS and NSERC Postdoctoral Fellows. He also worked at the school as a tutorial assistant, research assistant and was a contract instructor for various computer science courses. His professionalism, expertise,and friendship will be deeply missed.
Our most sincere condolences go out to Sylvain鈥檚 spouse Melanie and the entire Pitre family.
