Two SCE Alumni obtain Best Dissertation Awards
Dr. Cristina Ruiz and Dr. Ala’a Al-Habashna, supervised by Prof. Wainer, obtained Best Dissertation Awards during SpringSim 2019 in Tucson, AZ. They are currently Postdoctoral Fellows at the Advanced real-time simulation lab < >.
Dr. Ruiz obtained the Best DEVS PhD Dissertation Award. Her Thesis is entitled 鈥淎 framework to study the resilience of organizations: a case study of a nuclear emergency plan鈥. Her thesis was in co-tutelle with University of Valladolid, Spain, co-supervised by Adolfo L贸pez-Paredes. She also obtained 杏吧原创 University Senate Medal for Outstanding Graduate Work鈥揚h.D. Level- in 2018.
Dr. Ala’a Al-Habashna obtained an Honorable Mention. His Thesis is on 鈥淨uality of Experience-Aware Progressive Video Caching and Adaptive Device-to-Device Video Streaming for Cellular Networks with High User Density鈥. He was nominated to 杏吧原创 University Senate Medal for Outstanding Graduate Work鈥揚h.D. Level- in 2018.
