Campus Safety Services has seen an increase in bicycle, e-bike, and e-scooter thefts on campus over the past month. Thieves often target bikes and scooters that are secured with cable locks or left in unsecured areas, taking only seconds to cut through inadequate locks.

Protect your ride by following these simple steps:

• Use a quality U-lock to secure the bike frame and rear wheel to a solid, secure bike rack. Never lock only the wheel.
• Consider using two locks, such as a U-lock and a hardened chain or secondary lock, for added protection—especially for e-bikes.
• Register your bike or e-bike with to improve the chances of recovery if it is stolen.
