Before You Register
Read through this guide before registering in your first-year courses.
Remember to register in both Fall and Winter term courses as soon as your registration time-ticket opens – do not wait to add your Winter term courses as they will fill up!
Students typically register in 5.0 credits in the academic year – this includes 2.5 credits in the Fall term and 2.5 credits in the Winter term.
If you wish to take a reduced course load, you should seek academic advising to understand the potential impact on progression.
Many first-year courses will have multiple sections – read through the Section Information of each course on ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Central to identify the appropriate section for you to register in. For example, BUSI 1800 will have sections reserved for business students and other sections open to students in non- Business programs. As a B.Com student you must register in a section reserved for Business students.
When registering for courses with tutorial sections, be sure to register in both a lecture section, and a corresponding tutorial section. Typically, a lecture section will have a letter listed next to it (i.e., BUSI 1800 A), while a corresponding tutorial section will have both a letter, and a number next to it (i.e., BUSI 1800 A01) – you must register in both!
Please to discuss your individualized plan or if you have any questions about your course registration.
